The Engineering Services Behind Every System We Build
Inspection, welding, surface finishing, and design engineering are carried out in-house, on the same systems Esteril fabricates, tests, and qualifies.
Capabilities across the full equipment lifecycle
These are not separate offerings. They are the capabilities a sterile system needs at specific points in its life: welds that hold to a documented program, internal surfaces that can be inspected and evidenced, contact surfaces finished to a cleanable standard, and a design that accounts for the plant it is going into.
Keeping them in-house means the team that welds a joint is the team that inspects it, and the records travel with the system into qualification. For pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical work, that shortens the distance between a build decision and the document that proves it.
Four capabilities, Carried out in-house
Each service supports the equipment Esteril designs, fabricates, and qualifies.
Boroscopy and Videoscopy
High-resolution internal inspection of pipes and weld joints, used to document orbital welding joints and to see what a closed system cannot reach. Inspection identifies internal defects including corrosion, pitting, cracks, and foreign objects such as dust agglomerates and welding or grinding chips, and assesses erosion and other internal conditions.
- ✓ High-resolution imaging of internal surfaces
- ✓ Remote operation inside closed systems
- ✓ Works across varied internal geometries
Orbital Welding
A computer-controlled welding tool rotates 360 degrees around a stationary workpiece to produce uniform, repeatable welds in pipe and tube. The weld follows a saved program rather than a welder’s hand, so operator intervention is minimal and operator error is reduced against manual welding.
- ✓ Consistent, repeatable TIG weld quality
- ✓ Improved joint reliability
- ✓ Program saving and fine parameter control
- ✓ Printout of welding parameters for documentation
- ✓ Improved workplace safety
- ✓ Higher productivity
Electropolishing
An electrochemical process that removes surface material by anodic dissolution, smoothing and levelling the micro-peaks and valleys in stainless steel. Lower surface roughness makes the finish smoother, more corrosion resistant, and easier to sterilise.
- ✓ Finish quality beyond mechanical polishing
- ✓ Repeatable, controlled result
- ✓ Lustrous, microscopically smooth surface
- ✓ Improved anti-corrosive properties
Custom Design and Engineering
Technology integration and design synthesis, so each system is tailored to the customer’s process and balanced across form, function, cost, and timing. Every system is designed, manufactured, and rigorously tested, including hydro testing, pressure testing, and slope verification.
- ✓ Design tailored to your process, not a catalogue
- ✓ Hydro and pressure testing on every system
- ✓ Slope verification before dispatch
- ✓ cGMP documentation set at handover
Acceptance testing
Every system is tested twice, once at our facility and once at yours, against a specified procedure and with the client present.
Factory Acceptance Testing
Equipment is tested at the Esteril facility before dispatch. Customers are invited to attend and review construction, performance, and documentation firsthand, so anything that needs changing is found while the system is still on our floor.
Site Acceptance Testing
Equipment is tested on site after installation, connected to all utilities. Testing follows a specified procedure with the client present, and full results are reported, including how any deviation was handled and closed.
